Although times have changed and amber is not found as easy anymore as J.G.Haddow described it in 1891, we use our contacts to provide to you the best amber available.

Amber

from the Dominican Republic stands out from the amber found in other regions, because the occurrence of fossil insects in Dominican Amber is about 10 times higher than in Baltic amber and it is also 90 % more transparent. It occurs in several colors you will find nowhere else in the world.

Our Dominican Amber is still the REAL thing, natural amber as it comes from the mine. It has not been heat enhanced to "enliven and brighten" the stone. We sell it just as Mother Nature thinks it's beautiful. And that lady DOES have her own style.

Blue Amber

turns blue in natural sunlight and any other light source that has a slight component of UV (Ultra Violet) light because of its fluorescence. The process in Blue Amber is surprisingly similar to phosphor. Under long wave UV light it has an extremly strong reflection, almost white.
This effect is only possible in the Dominican Blue Amber category. Any other Amber (such as Baltic Amber) will not display this phenomenon.
