Strange colors of Dominican Amber

An important fact about Dominican amber that makes it stand out from the amber found in other regions: It occurs in several colors you will not find in any other part of the world in this way. We, at AmbarAzul can deliver all of them.

false green Often times, in some countries rare colors are produced by applying a certain paint to the backs of the amber stones, which causes the beholder's perception of green amber or other, which naturally does not appear in those places. It is heated up and cooled down to produce the "sun sprangles" (flints). Often cheap amber flooding the market is made only of amber rejects and amber sawdust or meal, colored, heated up and pressed in a vacuum chamber. (called: reconstructed, "improved", autoclaved etc.)

But for our Dominican amber we use none of these methods. It is not heat treated to reproduce our amber color, neither boiled in the fat of a suckling pig or rapeseed oil to make the amber transparent, as some did and do even more now. Our Dominican Amber is the REAL thing, natural amber just the way it comes from the mines.
